How Much Does a Website Cost: Price Ranges, Yearly Costs and What Quotes Leave Out

How much does a website cost? The answer has three layers: the build price (design and development), the yearly cost of keeping it running (domain, hosting, updates), and the items quotes often skip even though they decide whether the site brings in enquiries: tracking, SEO basics and speed. We go through them one by one with price ranges for the Polish market, so you can compare offers on the same basis.
How much a business website costs in Poland
A business website of 5–10 pages usually costs PLN 5,000–15,000 net in Poland. The spread comes from whether the project is built on a ready-made template or designed from scratch, and from the number of pages, language versions and integrations. 2026 price reviews put the average for a business site at around PLN 6,000, with about PLN 2,000 between smaller cities and Warsaw.
| Type of site | Build price | What you usually get |
|---|---|---|
| Landing page (one page) | PLN 1,500–6,000 | One design for a campaign, a form, basic tracking |
| Brochure site on a template | PLN 2,000–5,000 | 3–5 pages, an adapted template, contact form, mobile version |
| Business site, custom design | PLN 5,000–15,000 | 5–10 pages, original graphic design, a CMS for editing, SEO basics |
| Complex site (CMS, languages, integrations) | PLN 15,000–50,000 and up | Custom modules, several languages, CRM and third-party integrations |
| Online store | PLN 5,000–80,000 and up | Depends on the platform: from a template setup to a custom-built store |
The price depends mostly on how much human work sits behind the project: a custom design, custom components and integrations cost money, while a ready template with adjustments is several times cheaper. How much an online store costs: subscription or owned build
You can buy an online store in two ways: as a subscription (SaaS), where you pay monthly for a ready platform, or as an open-source build (for example WooCommerce) or a custom solution, where you pay once for the build and separately for upkeep. The first has a low entry point; the second gives you more control over the solution.
| Model | Start-up cost | Monthly cost | Who it fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Subscription platform (e.g. Shoper) | Low, often a template from the plan | from about PLN 35 to about PLN 500 per plan | Launching a store, a catalogue of up to a few hundred products |
| Shopify | Template and setup | from about PLN 150–300, growing with apps and fees | Selling in several countries, fast scaling |
| WooCommerce (open source) | PLN 500–5,000 and up for the build | Hosting, plugins, maintenance | A store with custom requirements and a development budget |
| Custom-built store | PLN 15,000–80,000 and up | Maintenance and development | A large catalogue, ERP and warehouse integrations |
In a store, payment fees, apps and plugins, courier and accounting integrations and marketing come on top of the platform price. So compare not the subscription but the monthly cost of the whole setup at your planned sales volume.
What a website costs to run each year
Running a website usually costs PLN 1,500–3,500 a year, which is a share of the build price, and covers the domain, hosting, security updates and small content fixes. Build quotes skip this item most often, and after a year it is a permanent part of the budget.
| Item | Cost per year | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Domain (.pl, .com) | PLN 50–100 | Renewed every year; register it in your own name, not the contractor’s |
| Hosting | PLN 120–1,200 | Shared hosting starts at around PLN 10 a month; a store needs more |
| SSL certificate | PLN 0–300 | Included with most hosting plans |
| Updates and security (WordPress and plugins) | PLN 600–3,000 | A maintenance contract: backups, updates, monitoring |
| Content fixes and small development | a few hours a month | Usually billed by the hour |
This way of counting changes how you compare offers. A site that is PLN 3,000 cheaper to build but has expensive maintenance, or no way to edit content yourself, can cost more after three years than a pricier competitor.

What website quotes leave out and what decides results
Most build quotes lack three items that decide whether the site brings enquiries or sales: tracking, SEO basics at launch, and speed with mobile testing. Each is cheaper to do during the build than to fix after campaigns have started.
- Tracking: GA4 setup, events (form submission, phone click, add to cart) and cookie consent. Without it, after a month of campaigns you do not know where enquiries came from. It usually costs PLN 1,000–4,000 depending on the number of events; our GA4 service describes the scope, and the GA4 audit checklist helps you verify it after launch.
- Consent and script blocking: a badly configured banner can block measurement or fire scripts before consent — we covered it in the article on blocking scripts before consent.
- SEO basics at launch: heading structure, titles and descriptions, a sitemap, search-friendly URLs and 301 redirects from old addresses. When a site is replaced, missing redirects can cut off existing Google entrances. Ongoing search optimisation is covered in how much SEO costs.
- Speed and mobile version: Core Web Vitals results, image sizes and tests on phones. Most ad traffic is mobile, so that is the site your customer sees.
- Copy and photos: copywriting and a photo shoot are often not included. Text for a business site is a separate cost of a few hundred zlotys per page.
- Rights to the project and access: agree in writing that the code, design, domain and hosting belong to you, because moving to another contractor without it can be costly.
How the website affects the cost of your ads
The speed and quality of your site directly affect the cost of acquiring customers from ads: a slow site loses part of the clicks you already paid for, and a badly built form loses another part of the traffic that reached its goal. So you pay twice, once for the traffic and once for the loss along the way.
That is why the website budget is worth considering together with the traffic budget. If you spend several thousand zlotys a month on ads, it is wiser to put more into the site and tracking than to save on the build and pay more for every enquiry. How to compare website quotes
Compare website quotes against the same list of items and by three-year cost, not by build price. The list below turns the conversation with a contractor into a set of concrete questions:
- What exactly is included: number of pages, language versions, rounds of revisions, training on editing content.
- What the site is built on (template or custom design, which CMS) and who holds the rights to the design and code.
- The yearly cost after launch: domain, hosting, maintenance, the hourly rate for fixes.
- Whether tracking (GA4, events, consent) and SEO basics with redirects are included.
- What the warranty looks like and how fast the contractor responds to bugs after launch.
- The schedule and what the contractor needs from you (copy, photos, access), because delays on the client’s side are the most common reason a project runs long.
Q.How much does a simple business website cost?
A simple brochure site on a template, with 3–5 pages, usually costs PLN 2,000–5,000 net, and a business site with a custom design and 5–10 pages PLN 5,000–15,000. Yearly costs come on top: domain, hosting and maintenance, usually PLN 1,500–3,500.
Q.Can you have a website for free or for a few hundred zlotys?
You can build a simple site yourself in a site builder for tens to a few hundred zlotys a year. It is worth asking whether the builder allows full tracking, fast loading, your own domain and control over the code, because those affect ad and SEO results.
Q.How much does it cost to run a website each year?
Domain and hosting usually cost PLN 170–1,300 a year, and a maintenance contract with updates and backups PLN 600–3,000. PLN 1,500–3,500 a year in total is a realistic range for a business site.
Q.Subscription store or your own: which to choose?
A subscription platform is cheaper to start and quick to launch, so it suits a small or mid-sized catalogue. An owned or custom store makes sense for non-standard requirements, large scale or integrations the platform does not support.
Q.Should tracking and SEO be included in the website price?
The basics, yes: GA4 setup, key events, consent and redirects from old addresses are part of the build, not an add-on. Ranking for specific keywords and ongoing SEO work is a separate service.

Plans and reviews campaigns that send traffic to client websites. From audits he knows that a site's results more often depend on what was missing from the quote (tracking, speed, structure) than on the project price itself.
